Friends of the Shelter is happy to accept any volunteers! Please contact us to get more information about how you can volunteer with us and truly make a difference in the lives of the animals we care for.

Mission and Purpose:

 

Friends of the Shelter (Friends) is a non-profit volunteer organization that has as its mission to prevent cruelty to animals and to assist in the care, adoption and rescue of homeless animals in Harlan County. We also strive to assist in the education of the public on issues regarding  responsible pet ownership and the importance of spay and neuter programs.
